The People

Ciao, we are Fabiano and Gianluca, the curators of Casa Nirvana and the current custodians of this land. We moved to Santa Maria di Castellabate with a dream to slow down, work in and with nature, and develop a tranquil place for people to rest and restore.

Every day, just like every beginning, offers us infinite possibilities for discovery and sharing. Opening the doors of our home is a deeply satisfying experience for us, a story created together with our guests, in a place where time seems to stand still.

Our house is not only of its history or its structure, but the atmosphere that one breathes here is a unique mix of warmth and well-being that come together to forge an unforgettable experience for those who visit us.

When visiting Casa Nirvana, each guest brings with them a fresh way of seeing this place, which in turn renews our sense of the everyday. Through their eyes, we rediscover the beauty of the house and gardens, the hills, land and sea that surrounds us. With every story shared, every laugh echoed within these walls, we are collectively enriched - a wonderful exchange, a continuous giving and receiving that nourishes the soul. Each guest who departures leaves something of themselves and takes a piece of Casa Nirvana with them. In this eternal exchange, we find the true essence of shared experience.

You are warmly invited to be here, to reconnect to yourself, with nature and what inspires you.

I have a profound curiosity for exploring bodymind wellbeing and how healing arts practices can be a helpful companion in our lives for this inquiry. The past 20 years I have studied various healing modalities, taught arts and therapeutic practice in higher education around the world, and invested many hours with people exploring the human need to return to the body as a universal, and shared experience. I have deep respect for transformational possibilities that arise through aware relational practices, and offer the world the physical, emotional and psychological resources for living more fully that I have learned along the way. Moving to Casa Nirvana has refreshed my love for nature and allows me to connect to my Italian heritage. I will be offering Somatic Movement practice, Biodynamic Craniosacral sessions and Yoga classes to our guests.

Gianluca

I have lived half of my life in Italy and half travelling the world, mostly living in the UK and Iceland. I have traveled throughout Europe, the USA and Asia for work, and absolutely loved the cultural exchange that travelling offered - learning people’s way of living, the food they ate and some of their traditions. I have worked in the Arts sector for over 20 years both as educator and director with international companies leading me to found Mobius Dance and Mobius Atelier, which engages dance and wellbeing to support the development of people. I like to live life in conscious action that aligns me with my talents and interests. Moving to Casa Nirvana has offered me the opportunity to rebalance my life, as well as deepening the wish to share my lived experiences in Italy. Working as a Coach has taught me that everyone has the capacity to connect to their life force, which is deeply satisfying to witness. When we learn how to add what we love in our daily life, we lead ourselves to a more embodied happiness.

In 1990 my father Domenico Pascale bought the old farmhouse and its surrounding land. His plan was to return to his native Castellabate and turn the house and land into holiday apartments and a garden centre. Sadly, Domenico died in 1995 at the young age of 57 and his dream was never realised. The property passed onto me and in 2000 I began to restructure the house according to my father's plans but for many years the project was left suspended.

In 2014 at the age of 57 I finally decided to return to Castellabate. In wellies, sun hat, leather gardening gloves, pitch fork, strimmer and hoe, I spent the next 9 years reclaiming the land from brambles, canes, tall tough grasses and giant ferns. I planted fruit trees, landscaped the front into the garden it is today and uncovered an old well. The house was finally finished in 2021. Casa Nirvana was born.

I’m really excited to see what the next 10 years and beyond will bring. I know it will be magical because it will be lovingly and creatively navigated into the next phase by the next generation.
